I love going out, carrying my pochade box, to capture the fleeting changes of the wonderful scenery that surrounds me. Unlike portraits, the landscapes here were painted quickly on the spot. I love the freshness and spontaneity of this approach and for me every painting carries a memory, the mood of the day, the people around me or what I was thinking while I painted.
